Your kids will love making a popcorn blossom tree craft

Children love painting, and this popcorn blossom tree – which allows for some snacking along the way – is loads of fun and easy to make.

With families across South Africa in lockdown – and kids are school holidays – now is the perfect time to make this popcorn blossom tree kid craft idea!

What you’ll need

  • Popcorn
  • White or brightly coloured cardboard
  • Pencils, crayons
  • Finger paints
  • Small paint brush
  • Hot glue

How to make it:

  • Make a bowl of yummy popcorn and set some aside in a bowl.
  • Help your child to draw or outline the basic shape of a tree on a piece of paper. It’s art, so it doesn’t have to be perfect.
  • Get your tot to paint the trunk and branches of your tree (finger paints work well with toddlers while older children might prefer a paintbrush).
  • Next up, grab a handful of popcorn and get creative! A simple glue stick works well to secure your popcorn to the paper.
  • Try to glue the smoother, flatter side of the popcorn to the paper.
  • Your blossom popcorn tree will emerge within minutes.
