Wet weather on Saturday morning had the Cape karters slithering about early on, before the sun broke through and the track dried out for some super quick action later in the day.
South African champion Joseph Oelz took a step closer to adding a WP title to his 2021 kart as he fought damp opening race winner Jason Coetzee off two races to one to take DD2, with Storm Lanfear in pursuit.
Conor Hughes won DD2 Masters from Andrew Thomas and Andre Steenkamp, and Kyle le Riche edged Storm Lanfear two Senior Max races to one, with Julian van der Watt third.
It was a day of domination in the schoolboy ranks as Reza Levy ran away in Junior Max, leaving Mini graduate Joshua Smit to pip Matthew Wadeley, Valentino Hoffman and Oliver Roach for second.
Joaquin de Oliveira similarly dominated Mini Max from Joshua Smit, Jordon Wadeley and Sabelo Ntuli. And Keagan Beaumont made Micro Max his own ahead of brother Aiden, Dale Hobbs, Matthew Chiwara and Matthew Roach.
The baby Bambinos however enjoyed a frantic day, as Michael O’Mahoney and Liam Wharton emerged first and second overall despite not winning a heat.
Michael Danks won a soaking first and a drier second race but hit trouble in the final to end up third and Siyabonga Ntuli took the final.
The Cape karters return to Killarney for round 7 of 8 on 30 October, while Rotax Max visits Formula K for the sixth round of the Gauteng regionals this coming Saturday 16 October.
