Man dies in horrific accident
A security guard died in an accident last week just off Queen Nandi Drive.

CRISIS Medical’s paramedics responded to reports of a head-on collision on Rosary Road, just off Queen Nandi Drive in Durban North, at 3pm on Wednesday 7 August.
The paramedics found one car engulfed in flames, while a Chubb Security vehicle was found close by. The single occupant of the Chubb vehicle died as a result of the collision, prior to the arrival of paramedics.
A second man, who had been pulled from the second vehicle before it burst into flames, was found in a critical condition.
Advance life support assistance from Rescue Care was called to the scene. The man was then intubated and placed on a manual ventilator to assist his breathing. Due to the seriousness of the man’s condition, it was decided that he would be airlifted to Albert Luthuli Hospital by helicopter.
The AMS helicopter was called in, while paramedics and police closed Queen Nandi Drive in both directions to allow the helicopter to land.
The critical man was then rushed from the scene by ambulance to meet the helicopter where he was airlifted to hospital.
The exact cause of the collision will be subject to a police investigation.
