Help with the make-over and change a life
Every year, Hirsch's takes on a project (usually a home) in one of the communities in which they operate, and they do a 'makeover' to help turn the lives of the occupants around.

MT Moriah is this year’s recipient of Hirsch’s annual makeover project.
Every year, Hirsch’s takes on a project (usually a home) in one of the communities in which they operate, and they do a ‘makeover’ to help turn the lives of the occupants around.
This year, they scoured KZN for a suitable project, and found that the most deserving of all the homesteads and
educare facilities they visited, was the Mt Moriah Educare Centre and Pre-School near Phoenix.
More than 200 children are being cared for in makeshift containers. Toilet and kitchen facilities are abysmal. There is no government funding for the school and the children, ranging in age from 18 months to five year olds, have nowhere else to go.
Hirsch’s plan is to build a formal pre-school and day care centre, a library, ablution blocks and community centre on the site. According to Hirsch’s KZN Action Team, who will be managing the project, they already have all the necessary backing from the local councillor as well as the community at large. The Phoenix Child Welfare, who has a close relationship with the Mount Moriah Centre, will oversee the centre.
The community centre will also be the focal point for entertainment, in a warm, social environment, bringing a sense of belonging to the elderly as well as the youth.
Hirsch’s would like to partner with their customers in this venture and are appealing for assistance to make this project a great success.
Invest in the future of the community of Mount Moriah, by helping to buy the building blocks for the project. Bricks will be branded with the company’s/contributor’s name and contribution.
Apart from donating to this worthy cause, contributors will be added into a lucky draw to win a R1 000 Hirsch voucher.
There is also a drive to collect story books for children aged between one to 10 years old. Hirsch stores around KZN will have a collection box until 31 October.
