Hijacked, robbed and assaulted by gang
Hi-jacker orders resident to drive to KwaMashu where he is robbed and assaulted.

A DURBAN North resident was hi-jacked on uMhlanga Rocks Drive and later robbed by four men on Monday 4 November.
According to Lt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, as the resident slowed down, an armed man jumped into the car and pointed a firearm at his head.
“The resident was ordered to drive to Bridge City in KwaMashu and wait in the parking lot. A further three suspects in a black Golf pulled up alongside the vehicle, robbed and assaulted him.
”The suspects searched the vehicle and stole R3 500 in cash, a cellphone and an external hard drive. The resident then drove himself to Entabeni Hospital,” he said.
Deokaran believes the criminals were rookies and decided not to take the car, because they suspected the vehicle was fitted with a tracker.
He also urged motorists to keep their doors locked at all times.
“We suspect the resident had not locked his car doors and that’s how the armed man managed to gain access to the car. I urge residents to always lock their car doors.”
