THE long awaited Dune Rehabilitation/Revegetation Workshop will be held in uMhlanga on Saturday 30 November 2013 at 8am to 12.30pm.

Trevor Edwards and Dudley Horn to take us on a tour of the excellent work that has been done to revegetate the dunes south of the Durban View Car Park. There were extensive wash-aways in this area a few years ago. Residents can learn from this work. There are many people working hard to save our dunes and if all the advice and knowledge is pooled, residents can come up with something that will help others make the task a little easier.

Programme

8am: Meet at Durban View Car Park Marine Road.

8.15am: Walk to view revegetation work, with Trevor Edwards and Dudley Horn.

9.15am: Drive to the Umhlanga Protea Hotel, for tea in the Conference room.

10.am: Elsa Pooley on her methods for dune rehabilitation.

10.30am: Landscape Manager on difficulties of getting started.

11am: Dudley Horn on plants and propagation.

11.30am: Dr Andrew Mather speaks on Admiralty Land Laws and how this affects property owners.

11.45am to 12.30pm: Discussion from all involved to come up with a general plan and ways to assist others.
