Train derails in Greenwood Park
A Metrorail passenger train has derailed in Greenwood Park.

FLOCKS of people gathered at the Mimosa Road railway bridge where a Metrorail train derailed.
The passenger train was heading towards Durban when it derailed. It is believed a concrete block in the middle of the railway caused the train to derail.
A resident (who did not want to be named) who lives next to the railway said her husband saw a man walking on the track earlier. She believed the man her husband saw put the concrete block on the track.
The resident said passengers in the train were very traumatised and were running around all over the scene.
“Luckily the embankment stopped the train from crashing into our home,” she said.
Three carriages were derailed. Reports indicate that no one was injured. SAPS was on scene and will do a full investigation.
