Decorex 2014 bigger and better

WITH some of the city’s leading designers and decorators already signed up to take part in Decorex Durban, the exhibition looks set to be an exciting showcase of the very latest lifestyle trends.

Decorex Durban, KwaZulu-Natal’s premier décor, design and lifestyle expo, takes place at the Durban Exhibition Centre between 20th and 23rd March 2014. This year’s exhibition is themed design your life, with a wide variety of exhibitors offering visitors all the ideas and inspiration they need to create the lifestyle and living environment they desire. The latest in décor and design trends is no longer dictate one single look that we all need to follow but rather encourage the rise of individual style.

Topping the bill at Decorex Durban is interior designer Bruce Fyfe who, together with fabric house St Leger and Viney, will be in the Decorex Designer Spotlight and creating a space reflecting how we will all be living in the very near future. It’s a feature kept tightly under wraps until the big reveal at the show opening.

Belgotex Floorcoverings will bring a Trend House to life in which six of the city’s top decorators and designers will each create a room encompassing the Belgotex slogan, A World of Choice.

Each room will showcase a different Belgotex Floorcovering that works with the design solution in the room on show.

Manscapes

In the spirit of Movember, Decorex SA launches the tongue in cheek “Manscape” project. Inspired by the success of the Mancaves feature in 2012 where some of South Africa’s most popular male celebrities and designers created the ultimate Mancave. Africa’s premier décor, design and lifestyle exhibition will invite the boys back again – only this time they‘re being sent outside to create an outdoor living space that any South African man would aspire to and want to recreate. We invite you to create a Manscape that reflects the latest trends as well as your own style in outdoor living.

Design Your Life Theatre

Always a hit with visitors, Decorex SA’s Theatres feature interactive cooking and entertaining demonstrations. An entertainers dream to explore new recipes, gardening tips and entertaining ideas.

The Design Your Life Themed Installation

Decorex SA has invited local interior designers Urban Lace, to depict the show’s theme in an entrance installation. Visitors can be sure to walk away with some individual inspiration and ideas for their home.

Plascon 2014 Colour Forecast

Co-show sponsor Plascon will showcase their 2014 Colour forecast, Colour Nation.

Gourmet Food Market

Decorex Durban is set to be a great day out for everyone with a variety of food features to suit most tastes. Eat Greek Catering promises elegant outdoor food and wine pairings at The Wine Bar and at the ever-popular Gourmet Market they will offer Food Market style frozen yoghurt, gourmet burgers, hot dogs and craft beer. The Afro’s Chicken food truck is sure to be a hit in the Cooking & Cuisine area of the show.
