Lucky escape for motorist on M4

Bottle thrown at motorist shatters windscreen on M4 freeway.

FOLLOWING the rock throwing incident from the Blackburn Bridge last week, another motorist was lucky to escape serious injury after a bottle smashed into his front windscreen, this time on the M4 (the Ellis Brown Viaduct), on Thursday night (16 January).

According to Lt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the station, the motorist spotted an object flying toward his car. “The incident happened at 10.30pm and the front windscreen was substantially damaged by the bottle,” he said. He warned drivers to be vigilant when driving near bridges and to be cautious of suspicious pedestrians.

“The most important thing is not to stop and to drive to the nearest police station,” he said.
