M4 likely to be closed till Tuesday morning
The M4 will likely be closed until Tuesday morning, says local councillor, Shaun Ryley.

A BURST water main brought traffic to a standstill this morning when the pipe burst causing tons of soil to spill onto the busy M4 highway during peak hour traffic.
Ward 36 councillor, Shaun Ryley, said one accident was reported to Metro Police, but added it was not serious.
“The roadway at the bridge (Swapo Road) is likely to be closed till Tuesday morning. The bridge will also be closed to traffic heading north and south. Swapo Road, at the bridge, will be dug up to replace and repair the pipe. The road on the M4, under the bridge, was not affected and will not be dug up for repairs,” Ryley said.
He added that the structural integrity of the bridge was not affected, but said Fairways residents were without water this morning: “This morning residents were without water, by eThewkini Municipality did divert the water so residents can have water,” he said.
Some electricity and telephone lines were also affected, but Ryley said it should be fixed before the end of today.
