Watch this shocking video of a pick pocket in action
Durban North-Umhlanga Community Policing Forum shares a video of a person stealing from a shopper's trolley.

A THEFT showing how a pick pocket stole the purse belonging to an elderly woman at what looks like a major retail store has gone viral. The Northglen News first saw the video posted on the Durban North-Umhlanga Community Police Forum (CPF). They describe it as happening “in the blink of an eye.” It shows how the elderly unsuspecting couple are going about their shopping oblivious to the fact that a thief is on the loose in the shop and targeting them.
The community watchdog called it a “1 Second Robbery” video and sent out a strong warning to residents to be vigilant at all times.
“That’s all it takes for an experienced opportunist to steal your property. Please secure your belongings. Ladies please close your handbags where possible and even clip it to your trolley with a carabiner of some sort. Be alert and aware of your surroundings at all times. Criminals are looking for the gap. Don’t be a victim!”
Hayden Searles, the chairman of the CPF said he believed that the incident took place at Gateway’s Woolworths. But a spokesperson for the massive store denied the claims. Durban North SAPS said no incidents had been reported. The video posted more than 13 hours ago by the community watchdog has already been viewed by 1334 people.
