Gayle Graham’s attacker in court today
The man alleged to be behind the Gayle Graham's assault is due to appear in the court.

THE man accused of brutally assaulting Durban North resident Gayle Graham is due to appear in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court today. The assault which occurred two weeks ago was allegedly over a parking space. Graham and her husband, Michael, were waiting in a queue of cars to find a parking and was motioned by one of the car guards that there was a space available.
As her husband tried to drive into the space, they were stopped by a man claiming he was keeping the space for his friend. The man then rushed around to the passenger side of the car and began repeatedly punching Graham in the face, chest and arms.
Her left eye, forehead, chest and upper arms were covered in black and blue bruises inflicted by her attacker.
Speaking to Northglen News this morning from court, Graham said she was trying to remain composed and strong ahead of the matter being heard. “I am not going to let this matter go,” she said.
Graham is being supported by a few local residents who have showed at court. Resident Andrew Saunders said he was flabbergasted at the behaviour of the man accused of Gayle’s assault. “Gayle is a strong woman, she didn’t deserve this. You can’t keep parking spaces for someone and I am here to support her through the ordeal.”
