Mouritz Botha joins Sharks

Saracens lock joins the Sharks on a two year contract.

THE Sharks have announced lock Mouritz Botha will join them in Super Rugby after five years in the Premiership with Saracens.

Botha, who was born in Vryheid, has played over 100 matches for Saracens and has won 10 England caps has signed a two year contract with the men in black.

The 32-year-old made his Test debut as a replacement against Wales at Twickenham before going on to start every game of England’s 2012 Six Nations campaign.

Sharks CEO John Smit said he was delighted with the signing of the English International lock.

“Mouritz is a great acquisition for the Cell C Sharks and his experience gained at international level will be hugely beneficial to our squad. He will add significant value and depth to our tight five. We look forward to welcoming him to Durban,” Smit said.
