More loadshedding woes for local residents

Eskom to implement loadshedding stage two from 4pm this evening.

ESKOM recently celebrated 10 days of keeping the lights on around the country but has failed to keep that momentum with loadshedding expected this evening. Now entering its third day the parastatal said stage two loadshedding will begin at 4pm this evening.

Earlier today Eskom said the power system is expected to be constrained during the evening peak periods (5pm to 9pm) mainly as a result of increased electricity demand.

Many residents are infuriated with the new schedule, especially those areas (block three) which experience loadshedding on a continual basis at peak times, and others (block 18) were hardly ever affected, only in stages three and four. To address this imbalance, a meeting will be held in La Lucia next Wednesday where residents will be addressed by  members of the municipality’s electricity department.
