Fire ravages car on the M4

No injuries in M4 blaze says local paramedics.

A DRIVER was lucky to escape injury after a fire broke out in his vehicle on the M4 near the M41 turn-off in Umhlanga Rocks late on Wednesday evening. It is unclear what caused the fire and Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen said the road had to be closed as firefighters battled the blaze.

“Emergency ervices were called to the scene by passing motorists. Swift action by Ethekwini Fire members saw the flames quickly extinguished. Luckily no one suffered any injuries in the fire which saw the road way closed as emergency services battled the blaze,” he said.
