18 injured in taxi accident

It is unclear what caused the taxi to overturn, leaving dozens of passengers injured.

EIGHTEEN commuters were left with minor to moderate injuries after the mini bus taxi the were traveling in overturned on the N2, near Umgeni Road earlier this evening.

It’s still unclear what caused the incident, said Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen.

“Our paramedics along with other emergency services treated and stabilized the injured on scene before transporting them to various nearby hospitals,” he said.

The local authorities were on scene and will investigate the incident further.
