Man killed in M4 crash

It is alleged that the man was struck by the motor vehicle while attempting to cross the M4.

A PEDESTRIAN believed to be in his late 30s was killed after he was struck by a light motor vehicle on the M4 earlier this evening.

According to Kyle van Reenen, of Crisis Medical, paramedics arrived on the scene, near to the Portland Road off-ramp, to find the man lying in the roadway. He had sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

Eyewitnesses alleged that the man was struck at high speed whilst attempting to cross the busy highway.

“A mother and two kids from the light motor vehicle involved suffered only moderate injuries and were attended to on scene before being taken through to a nearby hospital,” added Van Reenen.

The local authorities were on scene and will investigate further.
