Brave Amy loses her battle for a new heart

Amy Miller (5) died before doctors could locate a new heart for her.

AMY Miller, a five-year-old little girl from Umlanga College Pre-School, has died. The little girl died in the early hours of yesterday morning while waiting for a donor heart.

The Heart Kids website confirmed with a heartfelt message that the desperate race to locate a donor for Miller, who was diagnosed with a complex heart abnormality, ran out yesterday.

Miller’s parents, Natasha and Mike, have shared their daughter’s journey on the website in an effort not only to locate a heart for her but also to highlight the importance of donor registration. In October, the Millers appealed to the community to register as donors.

The brave little girl, her sister, Layla, and her parents have all signed up to become organ donors. In her passing, she will be able to save lives, the website stated.
