Pedestrian killed in uMhlanga accident

Pedestrian was trying to cross the busy road says paramedics on scene.

A 33-YEAR-OLD man has died after a pedestrian accident in uMhlanga  this afternoon. According to Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen, the man was struck while trying to cross the busy road.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene on the Millennium Bridge to find the man lying in the roadway having suffered fatal injuries. Unfortunately nothing could be done to save him and he was declared dead on arrival.

“The driver of the vehicle which struck him, sustained minor to moderate injuries and was attended to on scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care. It is alleged the man was struck by the vehicle while attempting to cross the busy road,” he said.

The exact facts are unclear and the local authorities will investigate further.
