A MAN is fighting for his life after a high speed collision on North Coast Road on Thursday evening. It’s alleged the driver was involved in a drag race. One of the vehicles involved burst into flames said Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 10pm to find two light motor vehicles had collided at high speed with one of the vehicles engulfed in flames. Luckily with the assistance of bystanders, both drivers had managed to free themselves from the wreckages before the fire started. One man sustained serious injury in the collision,” he said.

Van Reenen added reports from the scene suggested that the two vehicles collided at high speed, on a section of the road notorious for illegal drag racing.
