Three shot as police come under attack

Suspects trying to rob an ATM were involved in a shootout with police.

Details are emerging this morning of a shootout in the north of Durban that rocked the township of KwaMashu. Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen said  they were called to a scene where police had come under fire at around 2am this morning.

“Three police members sustained gunshot wounds and were attended to on scene by advanced life support emergency care practitioners before being taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital,” he said.

On the Phoenix Crime Watch page, it is being reported that the suspects were trying to bomb an ATM machine situated at the popular shopping centre, Bridge City.
