Attempted hijacking victim shot three times

A man was rushed to hospital after an attempted hijacking on Old North Coast Road.

A MAN was shot three times in an attempted hijacking on Old North Coast Road early on Thursday morning. The armed suspects left the scene empty-handed and are considered armed and dangerous.

“Details are still sketchy at the moment, but the suspects attempted to hijack the man and during the attempted robbery shot at the owner, hitting him three times. The incident occurred at a business just behind Kwik-Fit. The owner of the vehicle was taken to hospital and the armed men sped off,” said Tyron Powell of Marshall Security.

News of the incident came minutes after a cash-in-transit robbery at the White House Shopping Centre in Phoenix this morning, which left three people injured.

It is unclear whether the suspects were the same ones involved in the cash heist.

Earlier this morning, two people were injured after a truck collided with a street pole.
