Housebreaker sentenced to 6 years in jail
The man was linked to several cases of house break-ins in the Greenwood Park area.

A MAN linked to several house break-in cases in the Greenwood Park area has been sentenced to six years in prison. The suspect was arrested in March by members of Marshall Security after he and an accomplice were spotted scaling the walls of an Ellis Park Drive home.
Patrol officers eventually nabbed the suspect, who was found with stolen property, including a computer and a laptop.
“The officers spotted the suspects on foot in Lovat Road and both suspects fled into the bush when they saw the vehicle. One of the suspects was arrested and a number of stolen items were recovered,” explained the company’s Kyle van Reenen.
“He was then handed over to the Greenwood Park SAPS for investigation and processing. Upon further investigation by detectives, it was discovered the suspect was linked to several house break-in cases within the greater Greenwood Park area. After appearing in court, he was convicted of house-breaking and possession of stolen property and sentenced to six years’ direct imprisonment.”
