Nine injured in Nandi Drive accident

Yet another accident on Nandi Drive, this time a bus collision.

AT least nine people were injured after a bus collided with two vehicles on the corner of North Coast Road and Nandi Drive this morning. Netcare 911 spokesman, Athlenda Mathe said the accident occurred at about 10am.

“The exact detail to the cause of the accident will remain a subject for police investigation. Paramedics from various emergency services stabilised the injured on scene. Reports from the scene indicate that eight people sustained minor injuries while one person sustained moderate injuries,” she said.

According to Neil Powell of  Crisis Medical, several people were treated on scene.

“Eyewitness reports, the bus attempted to jump the red traffic light causing the vehicle to collide with the bakkie and then the light motor vehicle,” Powell said.

The accident comes two weeks after a taxi driver crashed into two street vendors in the vicinity of Nandi Drive and North Coast Road. One was killed on impact while the other was airlifted to hospital
