Man shot in Durban North road rage incident

The man is in a serious but stable condition and the shooter has been taken into police custody.

A 35-YEAR-OLD manĀ is in a serious condition after he was shot in the leg during a road rage incident near Beachwood Golf Course on Monday afternoon. Durban North SAPS has arrested the driver of the second vehicle involved in the shooting.

According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the altercation started on the M4. It’s believed a minor collision on the busy freeway led to the altercation.

“The driver of the second vehicle followed the victim from the M4 onto the off-ramp on Fairway before eventually stopping near the golf course. The driver then pulled out his firearm and claims to have fired two warning shots because the victim was approaching him.

“The suspect then fired the third shot into the man’s leg. He is in a critical, but stable condition and has been transported to a nearby hospital. The alleged shooter was taken into custody for further investigation,” he said.
