Protesters torch panel beater shop

North Coast Road has been caught in flames as angry protesters burn a panel beater store.

A PANEL beater store was set alight this morning as protest action continues along North Coast Road.

According to W/O Leon Audh of the Greenwood Park SAPS, all of the vehicles at the premises were torched.

Since early this morning, protesters have blocked North Coast Road and there have been reports that the situation turned volatile when they began burning tyres and stoning cars. Inanda Road between Sea Cow Lake, the N2 and the M19 leading towards Pinetown have been closed to traffic.

Reports suggest that the protesters are unhappy with the nominated ward councillors for the area.
