Motorists warned to fill tanks as strike looms
The strike is expected to prevent fuel from reaching the pump stations.

MOTORISTS are seemingly heeding the call to fill up their tanks before a strike by energy workers gets underway tomorrow morning. Garages around the Durban North area were full of drivers lining up to fill their tanks after an alert circled on social media.
The Chemical, Energy, Paper, Printing, Wood and Allied Workers’ Union (CEPPAWU) confirmed the strike earlier this afternoon, saying 23 000 workers in the petrochemical and pharmaceutical sectors are expected to down tools on Thursday.
It is believed the workers are demanding a nine per cent wage increase.
While petrol attendants are not expected to take part in the strike the AA warned that the strike could prevent petrol from reaching pumps at petrol stations.
Motorists are urged to fill up their tanks as often as possible and to avoid unnecessary long trips.
