R95 million frail-care facility set for Mt Edgecombe Retirement Village

The development’s care centre will be available to both residents and the general public.

THE Collins Group, developer of Mount Edgecombe Retirement Village, has confirmed a R95 million investment into the estate’s frail care facility pushing boundaries in the retirement development sector. This game-changing development is set to be the biggest frail care centre in KwaZulu-Natal, and open to the public by March 2018.

The village is situated within Kindlewood Estate, and will comprise of approximately 260 units. These units will offer a variety of bedroom sectional title units, as well as a limited number of freestanding homes.

The development’s care centre will be available to both residents and the general public. The state-of-the-art facility will have security cameras along with top-class nutritional meals provided. The care centre will have qualified staff members on-site ranging from nurses and doctors, to laundry, cleaning and kitchen services, business administrators and matrons.

“This is a very exciting development which we can only see growing in demand and adding value to the public. There is such a shortage of this type of product offering, especially where the healthcare facility is so carefully considered into the development plan,” said David Cameron, director of Cameron Property Group, developer representative for the retirement village.
