Greek treat set for Durban North

The Greek Food and Dance Festival to be held at the Hellenic Community Centre on 17 September.

THE public is invited to join the Greek Food and Dance Festival to be held at the Hellenic Community Centre in Durban North on 17 September.

The event is held annually to held raise funds for the maintenance of the buildings at the centre.

In addition to delicious home-cooked food, the public will also be able to enjoy some of the traditional Greek customs, such as plate breaking and dances. Special entertainment will also be provided for children.

Some of the popular dishes that will be on sale on the day includes, Souvlakia (pork and chicken kebabs), Keftedes (meatballs), vegetarian mousaka, lamb yvetsi, dolmades and Greek sweets such as baklava.

The event will be held at the Hellenic Community Centre (6 High Grove) from 9am to 4pm. Entrance is free. Contact 083 785 6912 or 072 348 8110.
