One injured after N2 collision involving cow

The driver of the vehicle was injured in the collision.

TRAFFIC was brought to a standstill on the N2 after a bakkie collided with a cow on the N2 today. One person was injured after the Isuzu bakkie collided with the animal on the freeway after the uMhlanga off-ramp. The cow had to be humanely euthanised due to its injuries confirmed Kyle van Reenen, of Marshall Security.

“The collision occurred on the N2 south bound. The vehicle was travelling in the right hand lane and collided with the cow, the driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries. Unfortunately the Durban & Coast SPCA had to put the cow down due to the severity of its injuries. The SPCA vet was called to the scene and the cow was euthanized on scene. Traffic was severely affected as the right hand lane remained closed,” he said.
