‘You don’t become fat by mistake’

The KZN head of health, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo urged residents to make their health a priority.

TAKE care of your heart. Stop drinking and smoking. That was the call made by KZN Health MEC, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo.  In a statement released by the provincial department of health, Dhlomo encouraged KwaZulu-Natal residents to make their health a priority.

He recently embarked on a campaign to make residents aware of the long term effects of alcohol and cigarettes on their health.

“People must get used to eating boiled food, fruit and vegetables. Everything you eat has a bearing on your health,” he said.

“The body only needs a particular amount of food. don’t eat more than you need to. You don’t become fat by mistake. It’s a choice you make, whereby you eat more than you need to, and then not exercise. Get used to regular physical exercise,” he urged.
