WhatsApp will stop working on these phones

WhatsApp will stop working on many phones by the end of 2016.

WHATSAPP, the popular messaging app platform, will no longer be supported on a number of mobile phones from the end of this month.

Earlier this year, WhatsApp announced that older smartphone operating systems on Android, Windows and iOS will also face the same wrath.

“As we look ahead, we want to focus our efforts on the mobile platforms the vast majority of people use. This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp,” the company said in a statement.

The following mobile platforms will no longer have access to WhatsApp

Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
Windows Phone 7
iPhone 3GS/iOS 6

The following devices will not be supported after the June 2017,

BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10
Nokia S40
Nokia Symbian S60
