Thieves cut hole in M4 fence, rob uMhlanga residents

The suspects robbed the women and then stole various items from a car parked in the yard.

AN uMhlanga resident and her friend were robbed by two suspects who cut a hole in their fence to gain access from the busy M4 highway. The robbery took place in one of the resident’s back gardens.

According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the incident occurred on Ridge Road.

“The suspects accosted the women and stole their handbags and cell phones. The suspects than ransacked a Range Rover which was also on the property. Reaction officers searched the M4 but found no sign of the suspects. We later confirmed they had made a hole in the rear fence of the property which borders the M4,” he said.

Last month, a homeowner and his domestic worker were held up after thieves damaged a section of his concrete fence to gain access to the property.
