Fisherman stabbed multiple times in Beachwood robbery

The fisherman is currently in a critical condition at a local hospital.

A FISHERMAN was stabbed multiple times by two suspects who attempted to rob him on Saturday on Beachwood Beach. The attack and subsequent robbery was the second in two weeks following a similar incident at Glenashley Beach. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the incident occurred at about 4am.

“Two suspects, one armed with a knife, approached the fisherman, who was the only person on the beach at the time. They tried to rob him. He put up a fight which led to one of the suspects stabbing him multiple times in the abdomen. It’s unclear what the men took but they fled on foot. The fisherman is currently in a critical condition at a local hospital,” he said.

Deokaran added the suspects are still at large.
