Rolling barriers to minimise accidents

The rails absorb the impact of the accident.

A NEW Korean invention could prevent vehicles from driving off the road, by using rolling barriers. Most roads around the world use strong metal bars, commonly referred to as guardrails, however the rolling barriers help absorb the impact of the crash.

They convert that impact energy into rotational energy to propel the vehicle forward rather than potentially breaking through an immovable barrier.

The ‘Rolling Barrier System’ as the inventors have called say the barrier is designed to make roads a safer place.
