WATCH: Parkinson’s disease sufferers take on Mannequin Challenge

Group raises awareness for Parkinson's by doing Mannequin Challenge.

FOR the last month, social media has been flooded with videos of people participating in the Mannequin Challenge. Now a video showing Parkinson disease sufferers taking part in the challenge is going viral. The video is about raising awareness of Parkinson’s disease.

Parkinson’s New South Wales posted its version of the online hit recently, the video has been viewed more than 300 000 times and has had 821 shares. The post reads: ‘For people with Parkinson’s, life is their challenge. #mannequinchallenge.’

This isn’t the first time the social media fad has been used to highlight a serious issue, last month, Childline KZN did its own version to  to bring attention to 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children.
