La Lucia Junior Primary welcomes new principal

The support from parents, the staff and learners has been incredible says newly appointed principal, Jen Harman.

JEN Harman has been appointed as the new principal of La Lucia Junior Primary School. The Durban North resident, who has been at the school for 13 years, served as the school’s department head for a number of years under the leadership of the previous principal, Morag Bennett.

“I’m honoured by the appointment. It’s an incredible school with an amazing reputation to uphold and is often referred to as a small school with a big heart. Both my daughters attended the school and that is when I fell in love with the ethos of the school. I am not only passionate about La Lucia Junior Primary but also the holistic development of a child and education in the Foundation Phase. I am excited about the challenge that lies ahead,” she said.

Harman said the support she has received from staff, parents and learners has made the transition a smooth one.

“We are like a family here at the school and the support from parents, the staff and learners has been incredible. The support from other principals in the community has been fantastic,” she said.
