Man arrested with stolen leaf blower in Glenashley

The man had stolen the leaf blower from a home on Maryland Avenue.

A MAN was arrested for being in possession of a stolen leaf blower in Glenashley on Wednesday afternoon. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the incident occurred just after 3pm.

“While on a routine patrol in Ebony Drive the reaction officer noticed a man carrying a black refuse bag. When the reaction officer questioned the man he revealed the contents of the bag to be a leaf blower which he stated he had found under a tree in the area. When the officer asked the man to show him where he had found the blower, a resident in Maryland Avenue confirmed that their landscaping assistant had been working on their verge with the blower. When he went back into the property to collect something, the suspect grabbed the machine and ran off. The suspect was arrested and handed over to the Durban North SAPS.”
