Workers uncover skeleton on Durban North property

Police have taken the remains to a mortuary for an autopsy.

CONSTRUCTION workers made a grisly discovery after they found a skeleton buried underneath a home on Beachway in Durban North on Friday. Members of the SAPS Durban Search and Rescue Unit were called out to the scene to remove the remains.

According to police, the skeleton was found while contractors were excavating foundations for an extension to a house.

“The Pathologist from KZN MLM advised a controlled excavation to protect the remains for an autopsy and identification at the mortuary. All the skeleton remains were recovered and removed to Gale mortuary,” they said in a statement.
