WATCH: Wildebeest plays dead to avoid fight

The video was captured near the Kruger National Park.

IT’S unusual for a wildebeest to play possum but in the latest video being shared across the web, that’s exactly what happened. The video was shot near the Kruger National Park.

It shows a male wildebeest using an unconventional method to survive. The wildebeest plays dead while his rival tries to force it back to its feet. He even locks horns with his rival in an attempt to get him to fight back.

The wildebeest shows no movement and the confused counterpart pauses briefly, using the short space of time, the wildebeest springs to his feet and gallops away.
