
A SECURITY guard was robbed of his vehicle by an armed man in Springfield Park on Tuesday. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the incident occurred at about 6.15pm.
“The robbery occurred at a business premises in Willowfield Crescent. The private security officer was busy with a shift change, when he was approached by an armed suspect, brandishing a pistol, demanding the security officer’s firearm and keys to his vehicle. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction.
“The stolen vehicle was fitted with a satellite tracking device monitored by BidTrack and a signal was picked up in the Springfield Park area, not far from the original scene of the crime. The vehicle was secured and handed over to the Greenwood Park SAPS. The suspect remains at large,” he said.
Greenwood Park SAPS spokesperson, Const Zenzele Chonco confirmed the incident saying a case had been opened.
