Four injured in Glenashley crash

Two vehicles collided in a ‘T-bone’ fashion before one of the vehicles overturned.

FOUR people were injured in a crash at the intersection of Newport and Marion Avenue early on Thursday morning. According to Kyle van Reenen of Crisis Medical, one of the vehicles overturned in the accident. This is the third accident since May at the same intersection with every vehicle involved in the collisions overturning.

Last month, the eThekwini Traffic Authority (ETA) said they would install traffic lights at the intersection.

“The collision involved a tow truck and a delivery vehicle at the intersection. Four people sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Reports from the scene indicate the two vehicles collided in a ‘T-bone’ fashion before one of the vehicles overturned, coming to a rear on its side, occupying the width of the roadway. The cause of the collision is unclear at this stage and will be investigated further,” he said.
