Join glittering HOLAH high tea

All proceeds go to the NPO Likhon iThemba which runs House of Love and Hope Baby House (HOLAH).

HOLAH (House of Love and Hope) will host a high tea on Saturday, 28 October at Grace Riverside Church on Anthony Road. The annual event will see uMhlanga’s Lisa Bobbert entertaining attendees with the Glitter Girls. HOLAH, is run by Kim Brown and Leanne Lorrance who said the day was more than just fundraising, but also raising awareness on adoption as a first choice.

“We had such a high demand last year and we wanted to change it up this year. We are so grateful to have Jodie-Lee (Donnison) and Lisa Bobbert on board which is awesome. I think what’s important for us is to have families thinking of adoption as a first choice. So much of the time people see the negative aspects of the process, and while there will always be negatives, there’s so much more to be positive about. We have adopted a child and it’s been the best decision of our lives and we are in the process of adopting another,” Brown said.

Brown added the NPO was working on several projects.

“We have six babies at our home at the moment and we’ve recently taken on two special needs children. They need a lot of therapy and extra attention. The money raised at the event will go towards the running of the house as well as other projects we are working on. We’ve always want to grow and even have a second baby house, which is something that is still in the pipeline. We are also in the process of setting up a special needs creche in Tongaat,” Brown said.

The event will start at 9am and this year’s theme is Glitz and Glam. Tickets cost R150. Contact Jodie on 078 793 1978 to book tickets or contact her via email: jodie@likhonithemba.co.za. You can also book through webtickets.co.za. All proceeds go to the NPO Likhon iThemba which runs House of Love and Hope Baby House (HOLAH). HOLAH is a baby house taking care of abandoned, unwanted babies and looking after them until they find forever families and the little ones are adopted.
