WATCH: Guide stands up to elephant in Kruger

The video, which was uploaded earlier this year, has amassed more than 750 000 views on YouTube

A VIDEO of a safari trail guide stopping a charging elephant has been gaining traction over the last few weeks. The video was shot at the Kruger National Park by guide, Alan McSmith.

It was uploaded earlier this year and has amassed more than 750 000 views on YouTube.  The heart-stopping moment is an example of ‘how calm energy can influence the behaviour of wild animals’ he said.

The footage shows the elephant trying to charge at McSmith twice.

In August, a video of a grumpy elephant facing off with a tracker on a safari in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park also went viral.

Filmed by Anja Lehmann, author of the travel blog “Never Seen Before”, earlier this year, the video has been viewed more than 50 000.
