R198 000 worth of items stolen in business break-in

No arrests have been made in the break-in which occurred over the space of a weekend.

GREENWOOD Park police are investigating a business burglary where items to the value of R198 000 were taken over the period of three days.

According to Sergeant Vincent Mthembu, spokesman for the station, the break-in occurred on Ashfield Road in Springfield Park.

“The victim had secured his business, all doors and windows were closed and locked and the alarm system was activated on the Friday afternoon. When he returned to his business premises on Monday he noticed several roof tiles were missing and had been removed. He started inspecting the premises and noticed stock from the business, which included shoes, bedding and towels were stolen. The value of the stolen items is R198 000. We also again appeal to the members of the public who might have information about this incident to contact the station on 031 5716512/3/4,” he said.

No arrests have yet been made.
