Two nabbed in uMgeni Park following high-speed chase

Two suspects, both aged 46 were arrested and charged for possession of cocaine.

TWO men were arrested for drug possession after a high-speed chase ended on Soofie Saheb Drive in uMgeni Park on Monday at about 2pm. The arrest was made by the SAPS Durban Central Crime Prevention Unit and with Metro Police.

According to police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala, the unit together with Metro were conducting a project aimed at confiscating drugs and arresting dealers.

“They spotted a suspicious black VW Polo on the corners of Stalwart Simelane Street (Stanger) and Sandile Thusi Road (Argyle). The members gave chase and managed to stop the vehicle in uMgeni. Upon searching the two occupants, members recovered cocaine in their possession. Two suspects, both aged 46 were arrested and charged for possession of cocaine.  The men appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and were granted bail of R1 000 each.”
