La Lucia home robbed by armed gang

Durban North SAPS have confirmed a case of house robbery has been opened.

A LA Lucia family have become the latest victims of an armed gang after they were robbed on Sunday just before lunchtime. According to Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security, the suspects targeted the home on Wilson Way.

“One of the suspects managed to jump over a wall to gain access to the property. Armed with a handgun, he held up the domestic worker before making her open the driveway gate. The suspects entered the premises and entered the home. The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewellery. Thankfully no one was injured in the incident,” he said.

It is believed the suspects were using a silver VW caddy.

The robberies come on the back of two homes that were ransacked within an hour of each other last week. Police allege the same gang was involved in the robberies in uMhlanga and Somerset Park. A silver Mercedes Benz was used by the suspects in the robbery.
