Durban North SAPS women lauded on Women’s Day

The station treated the staff female staff to a lunch at a local hotel.

DURBAN North SAPS honoured its female staff on Women’s Day last week by treating them to lunch at Beside Still Waters hotel. Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the station said all the staff female staff were treated in a special way.

“For us this was about giving back to the female staff at the station. I had contacted the owner of the hotel, Mary-Ann Vandersteen and she was delighted to oblige and also give back to the officers. Women’s Day is about celebrating and recognising women for their achievements. We had a mixture of officers and admin staff who have an unrelenting dedication to upholding the law and ensuring others are safe,” he said.

Vandersteen, a La Lucia resident said the lunch was about making the staff feel special.

“I have a heart for the community and I often feel women are overlooked. So we hosted this lunch for the station in order to bless the staff and make them feel special. I feel if every women just this month, blesses one women with a simple act of kindness then we can make a huge difference,” she said.
