Durban North resident stabbed in home invasion

The suspect involved was later arrested on Northumberland Place.

AN attempted murder case has been opened by the Durban North SAPS following an armed home invasion on Kenneth Kaunda Road (Northway) on Thursday evening.

The incident occurred just after 8pm confirmed Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North station.

“The homeowner and his family were awoken by the suspect forcing his way into his home. The homeowner then confronted the suspect and was stabbed several times,” he said.

“The suspect then fled the scene and was later arrested on Northumberland Place by Marshall Security. A case of attempted murder has been opened,” confirmed Deokaran.

The homeowner was treated by Crisis Medical and transported through to hospital.
