Victim of Durban hijacking video found in Newlands

The 54-year-old victim was found by police in the Newlands area.

MARSHALL Security have confirmed the Durban businesswoman abducted in this morning’s hijacking has been found and is in police custody.

Marta Rubilar, was hijacked early on Friday morning on Powell Road in Morningside.

Video footage of the incident surfaced of the incident and quickly went viral.

According to Kyle van Reenen, of Marshall Security, the 54-year-old was found in the Newlands area by members of the police.

“Thankfully she did not sustain any injuries and was found unharmed during the ordeal. When police found her she was on foot and had been pushed out of the stolen vehicle. The hijacking investigation is still ongoing,” he said.

Rubilar’s vehicle, a VW Polo with an NUR registration was found in KwaMashu abandoned. The suspects involved in the hijacking and kidnapping are still at large.
